The SPSPA’s research activities continue to grow and develop with features and has made significant research achievements in fields like political thoughts and political culture, government reforms, public governance, and globalization and international relations. Highlights from our activities are summarized below.

Since 2002, our faculty members have presided over 27 National Social Science Foundation projects and 56 Ministerial & Provincial-level projects, in which there are three National Social Science Foundation major projects, three Ministry of Education major R & D projects, and three “Marxist Theory Research and Construction Engineering” projects. They are also granted eight international collaboration projects funded by Ford Foundation, the Energy Foundation of US, ICMA and the Japan Foundation.

The faculty members have published over 1200 academic papers in journals such as Social Sciences in China, Journal of Political Science, Chinese Public Administration and World Economics and Politics. They have also published over 200 academic books. Faculty members have received over a dozen written instructions/comments from national leaders. Their works have won two awards from National Higher Education Institutions Humanities and Social Science Excellent Works Awards, one from Ministry of Education Higher Education Institutions Excellent Research Achievement (Humanities & Social Science) Awards, three from Beijing Municipality Philosophy and Social Science Excellent Works Awards, one from TOP 100 National Doctoral Dissertation Awards and one nomination prize from the same dissertation awards.
