The Department of Political Science is composed of 22 full-time teaching staff, among whom 3 are Level Two professors, 8 are doctoral supervisors, 9 are professors, 10 are associate professors and 12 have overseas study background. Department members stand as vice president of the Chinese Association of Political Science, vice director of Ministry of Education Political Science Teaching Steering Committee, National Social Science Foundation Politics Discipline expert reviewers, directors of the Chinese Association of Political Science, vice president and executive directors in Beijing Political Science and Public Administration Association, join “New Century Talent Supporting Program ” which is hosted by the Ministry of Education and teachers with title of “Beijing Municipality Outstanding Teaching Staff”.

The department convenes scholars with high reputation both domestically and globally in political thoughts and political culture. Their teaching and research are among the top in China. Politics and Public Administration is a State-Level Featured Major. Course “History of Western Political Thoughts” is in the list of “National Quality Course and National Quality Resource-Sharing Course”. Besides, the teaching team of Fundamental Courses of Politics is recognized as State-Level Teaching Excellency Team, and this team as well as that of History of Political Thoughts are labeled as Beijing Municipality Teaching Excellency Teams. The course team of Principles of Political Science is recognized as a team composed of experienced teachers for Ideological and political teaching by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
