The Department of Administrative Management is composed of 20 full-time teaching staff, among whom three are doctoral supervisors, eight are professors, eight are associate professors. One faculty member serves as vice president of the Chinese Public Administration Society, one as its executive director and four as its directors. vice director of China Society of Administrative Reform, also one acts as a National Social Science Foundation expert reviewer, one as vice director of Ministry of Education Public Administration Teaching Steering Committee, one as executive director of China Society of Administrative Reform and another as one of its directors. In addition, one faculty member has received the honorary title of Beijing Municipality Famous Teacher.
Oriented towards the practical needs of national governance and seeking theoretical innovations in public administration, the faculty has developed quite a few areas of disciplinary advantages. It enjoys significant academic influences in fields of government reforms, personnel laws and policies, local governance and crisis management, etc. And the faculty has established its own professional features in areas such as public policy, public human resources management and public governance. The faculty and their students commit themselves to the mission of “prioritizing public concerns and linking theories to practices,” and aim at fulfilling the ideal of “grounding in academics to serve the society.” In recent years, the faculty members have taken charge of plenty National Social Science Foundation Key Research projects, legislation projects and other government-entrusted projects, and they have guided students in completing over ten state level and municipal-level university students practice & innovation projects, hence providing direct intellectual support to government reforms and policy legislations.
